Description

ive been using this program almost since the beginning - right after napster. first time i didnt notice any cpu related problems - mostly the queue listings were small, and this issue didnt came up.

BUT years passing and queue listings growing. and when to queue couple thousand files to then all programs, including nicotine starting eat cpu time, and getting very slow. for example 25 thousand files, taking almost 10 minutes in dual core athlon 3ghz. it takes 14 minutes with pentium 3 1,4ghz, and similiar times all other cpu systems tested. i havent been test this on latest corei7. deleting listing is also very slow. so i changed cpus, trying to find solutions, but seem, its no difference wich cpu u use, client simply is slow. im asking, why these issues arising, and is there way to create client, wich can use cpu successfully.

Opening a 100.000 file share (>6000 dirs and >170GB) takes approximately 3 seconds on my low-end machine. If 25.000 takes 10 minutes on your machine I'd guess something is wrong with the machine itself? Broken harddrive, dodgy memory?

I assume you are talking about loading a share of someone, since I can't believe anyone would queue 25.000 files.
