Description
I have had this problem for almost a year now. I have reported it before, but it never was resolved. Basically, everything works like normal on the system until I try to download a file. Then it never connects. I have tried restarting the program, as well as my computer. My internet connection is working and stable. I have also, attempted to uninstall and reinstall the software, and it still is not working. Please refer to the screenshot attached with this ticket for what I keep receiving in error. If you can, please let me know what I can do to correct this problem.
Thanks, Rachel

Reinstalling software should have no effect on Linux.
There are two things you can try:
- Run N+ from a console (open console, type 'nicotine' or 'nicotine.py') and see if any errors pop up there
- Make sure your port is open and accessible. Look up your port number in the settings (usually 2234) and visit http://tools.slsknet.org/porttest.php?port=2234 where you can replace the last bit with your actual port number. If it says the port is closed you need to change your firewall/router to open the port.
