IS there a way to adjust the speed of the ticker?

I don't know about speed but if you can't read them you can use the /tickers command in chat room to print all tickers in the log window.

Yep! edit ticker.py

self.source = gobject.timeout_add(2500, self.scroll)

default delay is 2500 milliseconds (2.5 seconds)

enjoy and don't set delay value too low it could cause seizure
