nicotine+ not loading

simple as that really, nicotine says it's starting up and then it disappears. I've tried reinstalling but to no avail.

Is this a common occurence? Or can it be fixed easily?

Please provide some more information:

1. What OS are you using, linux/windows/osx?
2. How did you install the program, do you use the .exe/.app, have you used the package manager to install it or did you download the source yourself?

It sounds like a bug in Nicotine+ alright. Reinstalling Nicotine+ almost never helps because we have a strict separation of program-files and userdata-files (as all linux programs do). Reinstalling only removes and recreates the program-files, and usually the problem is inside the userdata-files.

You might see the error message when you run it from a terminal. Start a console (app -> utils -> console or konsole or term or shell) and then start n+ by typing "nicotine" or "nicotine.py" followed by an enter.
