Description
we need to change the settings windows it's overwhelming how about renaming the current settings window to "Advanced settings" and creating a slimmed down version with only the bare necessities? and calling that one "settings" username, password, shares, download dir, I18N, userinfo, "import windows config" that's it

We can try to make a real wizard with http://www.pygtk.org/docs/pygtk/class-gtkassistant.html

and maybe add an about:config thing to N+ so we can remove useful but really insignificant settings from the real settings window

you mean the simple/all toggle option? That doesn't help me much, I would still have to spend time creating a new setting tab and all that - the beauty of about:config is that it's all done automatically :)

Ah, there are two issues in this ticket now:
- Create a simple setting thing for new users, so they don't get scared away and configure the bare necessities; This is the basic-setup-wizard
- Give the programmers the option to make more stuff configurable with ease; this is the about:config thing

- Status changed from new to closed
- Resolution set to fixed
FastConfigure? is fully implemented now, the about:config should get its own ticket.

Someone on the chat said he didn't like how VLC has two diff. settings levels. While it's merely cosmetic, I guess we can name the slimmed down version the "Setup Wizard" or something
