a few ideas improving the GUI

I've got few ideas that could make nicotine-plus more comfortable.

-when i pick a file for download in the search window, its color should change. So i can see which files i'm downloading from the search list. -an option for closing to taskbar (like in amule), or at least a confirm dialog. I've closed nicotnie-plus accidentally sometimes. (and when i reconnected, i was queued and had to wait)

another one: in the Downloads tab, using different colors for finished, failed, queued etc. downloads would be very confortable.

Changing cell background/foreground colors isn't as easy as I thought it might be, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to add that. "Closing" to the taskbar is just a matter of hiding the main window, which can already be done with the trayicon. A confirmation dialog on exit wouldn't hurt, tho. Since nicotine-plus is now in extra as 'nicotine', I don't see any reason to keep updating AUR, unless it becomes obvious the Arch maintainer is not interested in updating it.

i didn't mean changing the foreground/background color, but changing the font color, like in the original soulseek client. (downloaded files displays in green, aborted and failed in red, locally queued in light blue, etc.)

anyway thanks for your modifications very much! i didn't recognised that nicotine-plus is in the extra repo...sorry for that. So i agree with you, no sense for keeping AUR up to date.

n0gabor, there's the SVN PKGBUILD in AUR if you want to 'live on the edge'. I agree with you that it would be a good improvement.

Would it be possible to remove the window close confirmation when the tray icon isn't being used? I don't let nicotine run all the time so I end up closing it pretty often.

Would it be possible to make the tab gui elements movable, like in the chatroomstab moving the chat scroll/ticker/entry area over to the right, on the fly, for instance?

Not without some careful changes. the main tabs currently aren't moveable because their position is tied with the operation of several features.

Hi.

If possible, please implement a "minimize to tray" or "close to tray" option. Of course, these would be customizable in the options menu.

Default would be as it is now.
