charset is not applied to directory tree in User browse

While the selection of the remote character set does affect the filenames (and everything seems to be fine with that, so far), it does not affect the names in the directory tree (left-hand side of the User browse tab) at all. Whatever i choose get's applied to the right-hand side, but the directory names always just show some question marks 2??????????", even if the filenames are correct. I attached a screenshot..... ("slightly" modified, for the sake of privacy)
