Download screen will not revert to flat list

Description

I left a report on sf.net, but since tha list is empty, maybe it's not the best place to post these ...

I upgraded to 1.2.7 and then 1.2.7.1, and in both versions the Downloads screen does not match the 5.4 section of the manual: I get a display grouped by the user, and since I only request one file from each of several users, my display is 50% consumed by these summary lines. there does not appear to be any config setting to revert to the prior behaviour, and a side-effect of this is that the column-button sort actions are all prevented beecause you can only sort within a user-group.

the prior behaviour, where the lines were a flat list of files, allowed me to sort by time-remaining to view a list of which files were soon to arrive.

thats not a defect but a new nicotine+ feature and a feature request from your side. i would like a choice like that too. the new layout is hard to get used to

"A bug is a feature that cannot be turned off"

If this is a feature, it is not reflected in the documentation, so that is at least a documentation bug, and if it is a feature, then it might be useful to include just a paragraph in the README to explain how it is that this mostly-noise and unsortable display is superior to the original concise and flexible display.

Because I can't think of any common use-case where this display could be anything but annoying ;)

@ anonymous at 03/16/07 15:01:37 Your lack of imagination is not my concern. A valid point was raised, and I'm going to (re)implement it. Obviously, some people want to sort the transfers list by users. Others do not. The list is not unsortable. You just do not like how it sorted, with good reason, I suppose.

I first implemented this feature in Murmur, with a toggle between the two sorting methods.. I'll do the same to Nicotine+.
